I will try to select a different GCP than the auto GCP option. What are the best practices for GCP selection at Sentinel 1 resolution? I am aware posts are good for higher res. sensors, but what about ST1? A building?

Hi carolina,
Did you follow the tutorials available on the site? If you want to select a small area, go:
1. Select Area -> View Refl. Map
2. Now zoom in to the area of interest in the new image window
3. Once you have it in the field of view, press the Grab Area button
4. The values should be automatically input in the boxes, now press Load

Hi Steffan,
to properly judge the geo-referencing you should observe carefully the reflectivity map (not the changes) and you should look at multiple areas. If all areas present the same coherent shift, then it is a problem that can be corrected by choosing a GCP. Check this tutorial: https://www.sarproz.com/publish/data_import_partII.pdf

Hello all,
I am currently working with 60 Sentinel 1 images taken in 2017. I am processing change detection over a very large area. Orthorectification does a great job but there is still a slight shift between SAR results and Google Earth, in some places as much as 100+ meters. This is especially noticeable over lakes or center pivot irrigation…[Read more]

I understand the unfinished.
I should use Mathlab Compiler? https://www.mathworks.com/products/compiler.html -

It looks like you are missing the Matlab Signal Processing Toolbox.
You can use the compiled version instead

Hi everyone 🙂
I’m trying to use the program to generate DEM. But unfortunately, at the very beginning I have problems, when loading data in the SLC Data Processing window, the following message appears:
1 Slave images have not been extracted!!
Because of this I can not do the first step which is co-registration.
I created the appropriate data…[Read more] -
periz replied to the topic APS processing in the forum Sarproz Forum 6 years, 9 months ago
At the moment no automatic import of external APS delay map is implemented.
However, you can do it in many ways if you can manipulate your data.
Inverted Residuals atmospheric delay is saved in the ATMOSPHERESGRAFO folder
they are binary files
The size is S/DSF x L/DSF (precise rounded values are in DimAtmo.mat, same folder). APS values are in…[Read more] -

Hi,
I’d like to ask you a question about the APS estimation module within SARPROZ.
Is it possible to use external models of water vapor, for the APS correction such as data from http://ceg-research.ncl.ac.uk/v2/gacos/ within the software or the only method is using inverted residuals and parameters for the APS processing?Thank you

I would like to see the settlement of PS points over time. So is it better to use a time-series analysis rather than a cumulative displacement??

periz replied to the topic Differences and Correlation between Cumulative Displacement and final value. in the forum Sarproz Forum 6 years, 10 months ago
If you use the smart option, the modeled displacement is a non-parametric estimate of the displacement. In other words, the smart option filters the displacement, and the filtered series is the result.
modeled_disp = filter ( displacement )
The cumulative displacement in Sarproz is always calculated based on the model, so
cum_disp = modeled_disp…[Read more] -

By setting the smart value to 5 and executing the time series module, the settlement value of PS-InSAR was obtained as the excel data.
However, there are many differences from the last value of the time series and the cumulative displacement.
I know that cumulative displacement analyzes the first and last images using a specific module.
I used 21…[Read more] -

Hi Van Anh,
how to distinguish between landslides and subsidence is a question that relates to the interpretation of the results, not to the processing, so, it’s something beyond the scope of this forum.
About QPS processing, usually we consider it an advanced topic that one can tackle after having well digested more simple approaches.
Anyway,…[Read more] -

Hi Admin,
First of all, I would like to thank you for your support in the image processing with Sarproz. I have completed the steps in processing the Sentinel-1A with 15 images, but after processing I do not understand what parameters to distinguish the determination of subsidence and landslides because I just see the file “def.trend”. The reason…[Read more] -

Hello,
Sorry for missing out this post.
At this moment, if your university blocks the FTP protocol, there is not much you can do.
However, we are now deciding to abandon the FTP server in a future release. Please know that I am now working on this issue (among many other things) and I expect to finish this module a couple of weeks at most.…[Read more]

Hello Jaroslav,
As long as you have precise or restitute orbits, you can use the “orbit only” method for coregistration.
Meanwhile, I am working on a new update in downloading new orbital files to make the process more stable and up-to-date.

Hello Yuxiao, thank you for this great update.
I takes a couple of weeks for precised orbit files to arrive, does it mean, that new co-registration method can’t be used with newest images?Jaroslav

Hello,
This is a permission issue under Windows that prevented the creation of a symbolic link.
I have just fixed this bug. You should be able to carry on when you see and update to a new version of the software.
Meanwhile, with the current version of sarproz, one thing you can try is to run it as administrator. It should solve the permission…[Read more]
